Growing up, I remember my dad's love of airplanes, and therefore we enjoyed many a family trip out to the 'observation deck.' Usually it was paired with a trip to Subway for a picnic lunch and my dad's pair of binoculars for viewing. He would teach us the types of planes that landed/took off (I knew them all once upon a time), and would try and explain 'thrust' (i.e. how a big metal plane stayed up in the air - this was always hard for me to grasp!).
This time was no different. We had the Subway sandwiches and binoculars, and dad pointed out the 737's, 767's, and even a 777. We also heard the voices of the pilots over the intercom as they were landing and taking off. Emily enjoyed running around and even got a 'plane ride' herself from Grandpa Paul. It was a great family venue for some great family fun.

Hilary, I need to find out how to get there, my boys would love that, it sounds like a great tradition!
