The trip definitely did not disappoint. We had the best time together relaxing, enjoying the scenery, playing in the snow, and even traveling together (so thankful that my hubby can drive in the snow!). We flew out of DFW Airport into Denver and then drove through the mountains to our destination of Winter Park, Colorado (elevation 8,500 ft).
We stayed in a cabin with some awesome mountain views and spent alot of time by the fireplace - reading, eating popcorn, drinking hot chocolate, laughing, dreaming, and just enjoying each other's company without any distractions. It was simply wonderful. We also ventured out to try some winter activities - tubing, ice skating, & cross-country skiing (which is a great way to explore the trails in the winter!).
The mountains provided such a peaceful and calm setting for us to connect without cell phones ringing, a toddler crying, or tvs talking. We came away with refreshed and renewed spirits after soaking in the beauty of creation and the quality time that we spent together. And to top it off, we got to come home to our sweet girl (who might have had more fun than we did playing with grandma, grandpa, & auntie Cath)! We are truly blessed.
