Party in Samsung's Galaxy

A couple of weekends ago Bryan and I went to his company's work party. We didn't go last year since I was pregnant and not feeling very well, so it was extra special this year. I really enjoyed getting all dressed up (in my favorite pre-pregnancy strapless Ann Taylor red dress!) and going out just the two of us.

We headed to the hotel in Addison where the festivities commenced, and Samsung once again did not disappoint. The theme this year was based on their new 'Galaxy' smart phone, and the entire ballroom was decked out as such - twinkling white lights, impressive celestial-decorated entrance, Star Wars characters roaming around, Mars candy on the table, and a large banner reading 'Welcome to the Samsung Galaxy.' Pretty cool. We enjoyed visiting the different food stations (my favorite was the mashed potato martini bar), listening to the live local band, 'Emerald City', and just being together for a date night (which is rare these days!).

Of course we hope every year to win one of the fabulous prizes - the new Samsung Tab (like iPad), 55" Samsung LCD tv, blue ray players, speaker system, round trip air tickets, jewelery, Galaxy phones, etc....however no such luck this year. Apparently this year was the largest in attendance - 1,300 people - so we didn't have much of a chance.

On our way out, we ran into Bryan's boss, whom I had never met before. We were introduced, and he had some nice things to say about Bryan (isn't great to hear how wonderful your spouse is from their BOSS?!? read: job security!).

So it was a great evening and wonderful way to celebrate another year of hard work. I'm so thankful for a hard-working husband who provides for his family....and for a great company that celebrates the dedication of its employees!
