Double Digit Months!

Photobucket

Our little Emily Jayne has now entered double digit territory - she is 10 months old today!

This is such a fun age. Her big accomplishment this month was taking her first steps!! It happened while Bryan was traveling, and then she showed off for daddy when he returned home two days later. She was so proud of herself.

Emily continues to 'cruise' everywhere - holding onto the walls and furniture to make her way 'walking' around the house. Her balance improves daily, which she tests going hands-free more and more these days. Ah, I can't believe we'll have a little walker soon!

After her sixth tooth made its debut this month, she became a much happier baby and loves laughing all the time - especially when playing with daddy. That belly laugh and toothy smile make my day.

Emily's appetite and array of foods have grown in the last month. She's still eating all homemade food - not all pureed anymore - yes! - and doing great with her sippy cup. She loves picking up and eating her own cheerios, puffs, & cheese cubes - such a big girl!

This month Emily visited the doctor for the first time as a 'sick' patient; however much to her mommy's joy/confusion, nothing was wrong...! I wonder how many times the pediatrician sees worried moms with babies that are just fine?!? Oh well!

We started beginner mommy/baby swimming lessons this month, and as we figured, she loves it. She has fun splashing, kicking, and watching the other babies in the pool....so far, going underwater hasn't been a big hit. Soon summertime will bring lots more fun trips to the pool!

We also go to 'Baby Time' at the local library every week. Emily has made great progess from the first time when the instructor told me at the end, "She sure likes doing her own thing!" That pretty much sums up our little busy bee! Now Emily does the motions with the songs, claps her hands, studies the books, and watches the other babies in the circle...there's so much to take in at the library!

We don't have a well-check visit this month, but from her recent trip to the pediatrician, she weighed in around 23 lbs. I don't know her height measurement, but I do know that she can now reach to the top of most tables in our house (and pull anything down). That took 'baby-proofing' to a whole new level...!

Happy 10 months to our little sweetie pie!
